I have started a new series over on my YouTube channel. Its all about trying clothes from shops I haven't tried before. In the past I might have shy'ed away from these places for many reason. It could have ben because I wasn't aware they even had a plus section. Some might have a plus section but their sizes run so small its impossible to fit into. It could have been because their website was/is rubbish to navigate and some simply wasn't/isn't size inclusive! Mostly though it is simply because of the higher price point! Up until now I have always shopped at budget friendly outlets. With 3 children there has never been the budget for us to spend €25 on a basic t-shirt I can get in Primark for €3! Being plus size, it was also difficult to get nice plus size clothing so when I did find something budget friendly, I would snap it up mindlessly, never considering it I would actually end up wearing it! Well 3 year on since I started this YouTube journey of mine and my love of fashion has only grown stronger. However not only has my style been refined and changed, I have also come to love a well curated wardrobe with pieces that I know I will actually wear and that will stand the test of time.
In a nutshell, I am ready to buy quality over quantity! Hence why its time to try new (to me) outlets. With the higher price point I wont be buying as many pieces in 1 go of course but Im aiming for 5 pieces and I will include prices so we can compare. The first video in this series as already been posted and in case you missed it, you can watch it HERE (or press the pic below) but the advantages of me writing the blog post about it, is that I will include how the return process has gone, as well as giving you some more details that didn't make it into the video. MANGO REVIEW:
Over all the website is easy enough to use. Per usual the plus section is a sub section under "women" but personally that don't bother me. Not the biggest selection but I definitely feel that care has been given to the plus pieces as much as for the smaller pieces. Plenty of pieces that will update any wardrobe. My over all feeling of their pieces is that of a capsule. A classic capsule with a few trendy pieces to play with thrown in there.
Its a easy website with sizes to a size 4xl & a UK size 26. My review on the sizes can be seen in the video. Annoyingly though, when scrolling the plus section, I found pieces that only went to size 14, even though I was in the plus section! not nice and annoying when you think you found a great piece, then only to see ya just cant have it!. Many of the pieces are around the €50+ price tag which can seem rather steep especially when Shein and Primark are your go-too places to shop, however the quality is AMAZING and from the few pieces I have tried, well worth every penny. Its hard to change your mindset from quantity over quality, but I'm working on it. The return was an easy enough process I did however have to cover the postage for the return parcel and as it goes by weight, it can be up to €13 for a return. However I feel that once aware of this, its something we can factor into the shopping experience and I still feel that the quality was worth it. Anyway that's my little review about trying MANGO for the first time.
I will be back for sure.
If you want to check out mango you can do so HERE and if you have ever tried MANGO, do let me know your thoughts, id love to hear.
